Proteoglikan diiktiraf oleh Ahli-Ahli Perubatan

Japanese Association of Preventative Medicine for Adult Diseases (JAPA) hanya akan mencadangkan produk yang "Berkualiti dan Selamat" sahaja.
Pemeriksaan yang disyorkan termasuk spesifikasi produk, kualiti bahan asas (sama ada bahan semulajadi atau tidak), ketepatan penerangan produk, keselamatan kepada tubuh manusia, bentuk penjualan produk dan juga iklan korporat (sama ada mengutamakan keselamatan pengguna atau tidak) selain ciri-ciri produk tersebut. Dari permulaan sehingga mesyuarat perbincangan dengan pengusaha, sejumlah 8 proses dan 20 kriteria perlu dinilai. Peringkat terakhir perlu mendapat kelulusan daripada ahli-ahli lembaga setelah pemeriksaan komprehensif dibuat, sebelum produk itu dapat disyorkan. Malahan bagi semua jenis produk dalam sesuatu bidang, hanya satu produk atau sebuah syarikat sahaja yang akan dipilih sebagai wakil.

Persatuan ini ditubuhkan pada tahun 1988 oleh Tokyo Metropolitan Health and Medical Information Center dan pengarah Physician Cooperative dari Tokyo. Kumpulan perubatan ini berteraskan kepakaran doktor dalam setiap bidang, dengan bantuan para penyelidik dan syarikat-syarikat swasta yang berkaitan, bertujuan untuk mencegah penyakit dewasa (penyakit kronik) dan mewujudkan masyarakat yang sihat melalui konsultasi kesihatan percuma, membantu dalam mendapatkan kelayakan pengamal kesihatan, aktiviti seminar dan sebagainya serta giat mempromosikan "perubatan secara pencegahan."
